Australia’s newest guided bushwalking experience

There are more than 200 national parks in Queensland, covering 6.5 million hectares.

Tropical Treks’ new guided bushwalking tour takes hikers through remote eucalypt forest and sub-tropical rainforest along the unspoilt beaches of Queensland’s spectacular Cooloola Coast.

Cooloola is the Aboriginal Gubbi Gubbi word for “the sound the wind makes as it whispers through the branches of the trees”. The Aboriginal people of Cooloola have a strong connection to this land and many significant sites are observed throughout the trek.

While allowing hikers plenty of time to relax or watch for bird and wildlife, the trek traverses 500,000-year-old sand dunes, 25 million-year-old volcanic crags and the unspoilt Noosa ‘River of Mirrors’.

Limited to groups of six, packages include all camping equipment and meals, one night’s pre-trek accommodation and airport transfers from Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast. The specialist trekking company launched its exciting five-day, four-night hike in April.
