Construction of Crystalbrook Collection luxury hotels to transform Cairns
A $500-million investment is set to transform the Cairns skyline with the construction of three new five-star international hotels, Riley, Bailey and Flynn, from Crystalbrook Collection.
The company behind the investment, Crystalbrook Collection, headed by businessman and philanthropist Ghassan Aboud, will see the hotels add to their growing portfolio of luxury hotels and resorts across the region.
“Cairns is a great city and on the doorstep of one of the great wonders of the world,” Aboud has said, “In the next five years, you will see it transformed. There have been no new five-star international hotels in Cairns for over 20 years.”
With all construction set to be completed by early 2020, the three luxury hotels will open 800 new hotel rooms, create 3,500 jobs and is expected to boost the local economy by $900 million. Riley Resort will open November 2018, Bailey Hotel in mid-2019 and Flynn Hotel by early 2020.
